Share a meal, as well as laughs, stories and friendship, with others at one of the Terrebonne Council on Aging’s five lunch sites located throughout the parish. For qualifying clients, Congregate Meals not only provide nutrition that meet federal dietary guidelines; they also provide seniors with the companionship and interaction they need to keep them healthy and active – both physically and mentally.
Who receives congregate meals?
Qualified candidates:
- Must be 60 and older.
- Priority will be given to older persons with the greatest economic and/or social need, with particular attention to low-income minority and Native American individuals.
- Spouses may also qualify, if deemed in the best interest of the client.
- Clients must qualify using the mandated Governors’ Office of Elderly Affairs assessment tool.
- Suggested donation is $1 per meal.
