Elders and disabled persons in our community know that they can contact us when a need arises for items such as walkers or hospital beds that are needed but perhaps not affordable (subject to availability).
Our lending closet program maintains a rotating stock of durable medical goods that may be needed for a few weeks or even long term. The items are for an elder or disabled client’s personal use and are returned when no longer needed.
These items are all donated to TCOA by the citizens of the parish. If you have equipment that you no longer use, please donate it to our lending closet. If you are in need of any equipment please contact us at (985) 868-5546.
Some of the items that are available for use are:
-
Hospital beds
-
Shower chairs
-
Canes
-
Walkers
-
Bedside commodes
If there is an item that is needed, but not listed above, please call us. Unique items are donated from time to time and may be available.
Who receives Lending Closet services?
- 60 and older.
- Disabled 21 and over.
- Not receiving duplicate service from another agency or program.
For more information on this service, the brochure is available here.
